EGO BLINDS by Viala Living wants this site to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, or a magnified display.

What we aim for

We work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1, level AA. That is the standard generally applied to business websites in the United States.

What we have done

Every page has one main heading and a proper heading order, and a link at the top that jumps straight to the content. Every photograph carries a text description, and decorative images are marked so a screen reader passes over them. Every form field has a visible label; a field that fails validation is announced as invalid and points at its own error message. Text colours are checked against the 4.5 to 1 contrast the guidelines ask for. The whole site can be used with a keyboard, and works when the page is enlarged.

Where we fall short

The map on the contact page is supplied by Google and we do not control how accessible it is. The address in text and a "Get directions" button sit directly beneath it, so nothing on that page depends on being able to use the map itself.
